386- School Sri Sugatha Primary (UVA)

Rural school with 710 children grade 1-13 from poor families and 72 teachers make use of the new facilities.

This school is situated in Bandarawela district Haldummulla village in the tea state area, is divided into two levels in terms of ground height.

In the dry season for 7 months no water, they bring water with plastic cans by using bicycles to do their highly necessary. A natural source is located about 600meters away from the school.

To realize, improved water and sanitation facilities:

Build source well, well cover, source water by gravity through iron pipeline from source well to the school, low concrete water tower with 5.000Lt. storage tank, construct steel water tower with tank at the school, constructions of toilet pit, 4 concrete washing units (1 unit has 4 taps).

Parents and children help: transport materials from gate to construction sites, digging for the piping.
